The CanalPro Apex Locator is a digital tool. It shows when an endodontic file reaches the apical foramen in the root canal. Measurements are made using high- and low-frequency AC signals and the impedance of the area of the canal is obtained during advancement of the file inside the root canal.

The file position is calculated using special software. It is then shown on the colored 3D panel screen. The Virtual Apex Function allows the clinician to set a specific distance from the apex before measurement. It provides clear visual and audio alerts when the file tip reaches the chosen mark.

The CanalPro Apex Locator is easy to use and comfortable to hold. It has audio feedback with volume control.

It also features a built-in demo mode and a rechargeable battery. The device will automatically turn off after five minutes of inactivity. It can be used under wet and dry conditions.

The CanalPro Apex Locator comes with a charger, measuring cable, touch probe, two file clips, and five lip clips. Measuring cables, chargers and rechargeable batteries can also be purchased individually. File clips and touch probes are available in packs of two, and lip clips in packs of five.

User-friendly, intelligent interface

The CanalPro Apex Locator offers a 3D user interface based on a high resolution TFT color graphic display. It shows the movement of the file inside the canal from the beginning of the measurements to the end, providing uninterrupted feedback to the dentist.

Accuracy of measurement

The two measuring frequencies are alternated, not mixed. This is different from traditional apex locators. This method removes the need for signal filtering. It also eliminates noise from nonideal filters. To calculate the file tip position, the RMS (Root Mean Square) level of the signal (signal intensity) is used and not signal amplitude or phase. This makes the measurement much more immune to various kinds of electromagnetic noises.

Virtual Apex Function

Virtual apex enables to mark a predetermined position at the required distance from the apex. When this feature is enabled, the dentist gets clear visual and audio indication that the file tip has reached the selected position near the apex.

Please Note: Accuracy in readings for apex locators is claimed to be 97.7% accurate. Readings can differ from the usual way of measuring working length (radiographic method). They may change if the precautions in the user manual are not followed.
